Regular Monthly Meeting
The Regular Board of Supervisors meeting was called to order at the Wood River Town Hall at 6:30 pm by Chairman Joel Johnson. Present were Chairman Joel Johnson, Supervisors: Daryl Wedin, John Hennessey, Treasurer Laura McKeag, Jeff Erickson and Larry Knoebel

Chip sealing Road Bid: Review and decide: 1 bid was submitted by Burnett County Highway Dept. $34,400.00 for chip sealing 3 miles of Crosstown Rd, starting at Cty. Rd M west to S. Williams Rd. Joel Johnson made a motion to accept the bid from Burnett County Highway Dept for $34,400.00. Daryl Wedin seconded it. All voted in favor. MC

Little Wood Lake Association-sign: review and decide: Larry Knoebel from the Little Wood Lake Association stated that the original lighted sign that they had received permission to put up would cost $3,700, which was more than the Lake Association wanted to pay. Instead, they have gotten a grant with the DNR to have a zebra mussel cleaning/decontamination station at the lake landing. The DNR will supply a 4 x 8 sign. The Lake Association is responsible for putting in the 4 x 4 posts to attach the sign to. The Lake Association requested approval to have the 4 x 4 posts installed. John Hennessey made a motion to approve the installation of the 4 x 4 posts. Joel Johnson seconded it. All voted in favor. MC.

Citizen Input: None.

May2018 Minutes: review and approve: The May 9, 2018 Regular Board Meeting minutes were reviewed. Daryl Wedin questioned the way the May minutes were written regarding the “Citizen Input”. He thought more should have been added about the input. Joel Johnson stated that Citizen Input is only that, input. Nothing is discussed or voted on. Nothing will be done with the tree, as the intersection is safe. John Hennessey made a motion to approve the May 9, 2018 meeting minutes as written. Joel Johnson seconded the motion. J.H. and J.J. voted in favor. D.W. opposed. MC

May2018 Treasurers Report: review and approve: Treasurer Laura McKeag submitted the May 2018 Treasurers report. The General fund balance is $183,148.93; Highway fund balance is $82,472.32; Savings account balance is $6,670.75; the CD balance is $35,043.97. Joel Johnson asked if there were any questions. Joel Johnson made a motion to approve the May 2018 Treasurer’s report as presented. John Hennessey seconded the motion. All voted in favor. MC

Fire Association Report: Daryl Wedin submitted the May 21, 2018 Regular Fire Association meeting minutes for our review along with the May 30, 2018 Special Meeting minutes.

Road Maint operator ad: review interview findings and discuss: Lee Moyer turned down the position. He was looking for more pay. Bryce had no CDL or heavy equipment experience. It was stated another ad should be placed with a stress on CDL required or obtained shortly after hire and heavy equipment experience helpful.
John Hennessey made a motion to run the ad for 2 more weeks. Joel Johnson seconded it. MC

Road Maintenance: Jeff Erickson reported: Culverts are in on Town Rd. A and Crosstown Rd. Rangeline Rd still needs to be done. Radiator is leaking on the Sterling. Jeff will try Stop-Leak to see if that helps temporarily. Eventual repair will have to be done. The mower deck has been welded and repaired. There is a bad culvert on Deer Farm Rd that will need to be replaced. May want to reconsider location of it. Jeff contacted Jason Doskocil about taking the scrap culverts, scrap metal and tires that have accumulated over the years. He is working on getting the Quonset bldg cleaned out. Chuck S. will be doing some mowing this summer along with some clean up of brush in the cemetery.

Audit the bills: Joel Johnson made a motion to audit the bills. John Hennessey seconded the motion. All voted in favor. Bills approved and paid. MC

Set Agenda for July: Review applications from Road Maint. Operator ad, discuss the leveling of the hill by Crosstown and Cty. Rd M and regular monthly items.

Adjourn meeting: John Hennessey made a motion to adjourn meeting. Joel Johnson seconded it. All voted in favor. MC Chairman Joel Johnson adjourned the meeting at 7:41 p.m.
